At an early age, Frank B. Fuhrer learned well the principles of integrity, fairness, and consistency. In 1966, he began to incorporate these principles into a large portfolio of companies, which today has evolved into one company that is the 20th largest beer wholesaler in the country—Fuhrer Holdings, Inc.. Founded in 1982 as the Frank B. Fuhrer Wholesale Co., the wholesaler has grown to employ more than 270. Taught to share the same ideals, Fuhrer Wholesale Company now serves a 10½ county region representing over 160 brands with nearly 15 million cases of beer sold annually.
Some of Mr. Fuhrer’s previous businesses include: Frank B. Fuhrer & Associates, Inc., a credit insurance agency, Tri-State Mechanical Services, Inc., an automobile warranty insurance company and F.B.F. Distributors, Inc, a Pennsylvania and West Virginia distributor of TekTor products which provided interior and exterior protection for automobiles.
Over the years, Mr. Fuhrer has held ownership of several area professional sports teams including, the Pittsburgh Triangles Professional Tennis Team (1974-1976), the Pittsburgh Spirit Indoor Soccer Team (1979-1981), and the Pittsburgh Pirates (1996).
A graduate of Allegheny College and the University of Pittsburgh, Katz School of Business, with a Masters in Organizational Behavior (1951), Mr. Fuhrer credits his success to the founding principles of integrity, fairness and consistency.
A resident of O’Hara Township, Mr. Fuhrer is a strong proponent of community support, annually donating to area organizations, including Family House, Shadyside Hospital, and the Western Pennsylvania Firefighters and the Allegheny County Law Enforcement Memorials.
Brought up to carry on the same principals as his father, Frank B. Fuhrer, III is the son of founder Frank B. Fuhrer and has served as President since 2006, having joined Frank B. Fuhrer Wholesale Company in 1987. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Mr. Fuhrer served as the General Manager and Equity Manager of the Anheuser-Busch Division, from 1999 to 2005, and as the Vice President and Operations Manager from 1995 to 1999.
Mr. Fuhrer is a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and serves as a member of the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association Championship Committee and on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania.
Mr. Fuhrer competed professionally in golf from 1982 to 1986. In 1981, Mr. Fuhrer was a United States Walker Cup Team Member and was a member of the PGA Tour in 1984.
Jack Miller is one of the longest tenured employees at Frank B. Fuhrer Wholesale Company, having joined Fuhrer Holdings in 1979.
Today, Mr. Miller serves as the company’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, overseeing all of the financial, legal and compliance issues.
A graduate of Robert Morris University, Jack holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He and his wife Carol reside in Jefferson Hills and have three daughters and five grandchildren.
With 20 years of experience in Warehouse and Distribution with United Parcel Service (UPS), Mike Morgan joined Fuhrer Wholesale in 2005.
Mr. Morgan oversees the fleet, facility, administrative and warehouse/delivery operation where the focus is on enhancing health and safety, providing superior customer service while pursuing excellence through innovation and new technology.
In his previous position at UPS, Mr. Morgan was responsible of package handling and distribution, advancing to Transportation Manager in charge of logistics and CDL driver training.
An avid hunter and motorcyclist, Mike resides in Export with his wife Debbie and their two children.
Mr. Sproule has served as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Fuhrer Wholesale Company since 2007. Mr. Sproule worked his way through the ranks at Fuhrer including roles as the General Manager and Sales Manager for Fuhrer Eagle Sales, the division that oversees all Anheuser-Busch brands. In 2002, Mr. Sproule also worked closely with other members of Executive Management in helping Fuhrer Wholesale Company acquire two local Anheuser-Busch wholesalers.
Kevin is a 1990 graduate of Notre Dame and is married with 4 children.
